Pregnancy
I will work with you through all the changes of pregnancy and the many symptoms that come along with it. You’ll practice safe exercises, adjust to posture changes, and manage pain with an experienced therapist. I can help with things like low back pain, sciatica, leaking urine, pelvic pain and pressure, and safe exercise as your body changes.
Birth Prep
I help you prepare for your birth with the goal of lessening your risk of pelvic trauma during delivery. You’ll learn proper pushing and self massage, and work on positions for labor and delivery that work best for you. Things we work on include perineal massage, labor positions, pushing, things to ask your provider, and core and pelvic floor muscle training.
Postpartum
Postpartum is more than the first few months after delivery. It’s really the beginning of a whole new you. Here are areas you may need some support: abdominal separation (DRA), core weakness, breastfeeding positions, pain with sex, scar tissue pain after c-section or vaginal birth, core weakness, leaking urine, pelvic pain, return to fitness activities, and many other issues you may be experiencing.
Incontinence
If you are experiencing difficulty peeing or pooping, going to the bathroom often, getting up at night to pee, leaking, or pain I can help. I will identify the cause for your leakage and make a plan based on your symptoms. This plan could include exercises that will strengthen or relax your pelvic floor and retrain your bladder and bowels.
Fitness
We’ll work together to create and implement a safe fitness program while managing pelvic floor symptoms or conditions. You may rock climb, lift weights, practice yoga, be a weekend worrier, play pickleball, or chase after your toddler. No matter the activity or fitness level I will work with you to get you back to what you enjoy symptom free.
Pain
I work on releasing muscle tension that causes pain in the pelvic floor region, stretching and strengthening exercises, and identify tools you can use to help you find relief. I work on pain in the tailbone, anal/rectal, abdomen, bladder, vagina and vulvar region, penis and scrotal region, hips, back, and pelvis.
Constipation
If you have hard poop, hemorrhoids, fissures, pain with pooping, straining, bloating, or yo-yo between diarrhea and hard poop I can help. We will work on exercises to help relax your pelvic floor, coach you on positions and techniques to help you poop easier, and give advice on diet and lifestyle modifications.
Prolapse
If you have bladder, rectal, or uterine prolapse I can help. We can manage pelvic pressure and heaviness using position change and pressure management techniques. Whether the goal is to stop the progression of prolapse, prevent surgery, or recover from surgery, I will develop a plan for you.
Surgery Recovery
I will work with you whether your surgery was recent or in the distant past. We’ll do this through strengthening, working through scar tissue adhesions, and correcting muscle imbalance. I work with hysterectomy, bladder slings, c-section, endometriosis surgeries, hernia repairs, and many others.
